I love Columbus Ohio. As strange as that may sound, it’s a surprisingly interesting city to grow up near. We have the best ice cream in America (shouts out to Jeni’s Ice Cream), great colleges, and an extremely vibrant music scene. Recently, one Columbus based band has been creating waves outside of the Buckeye State and impressing music critics across the country with their catchy folk tunes. And that group is none other than Saintseneca.

After making their way through the DIY/House scene in Columbus, Saintseneca were lucky enough to sign to Anti- Records in 2013. Since joining, this quartet has released a slew of singles in anticipation of their full length label debut, Dark Arc, which is set to be out in just a few months.

A personal favorite cut would have to be “Uppercutter”. This emotional and artfully crafted track ties together atmospheric indie rock with exciting folk elements to delightful results. To put it bluntly, they sound like a calm and more sophisticated version of the Avett Brothers.

They’re embarking upon a pretty extensive tour in support of Dark Arc so if you’re near where they’re playing, check them out. Support my fellow Ohioans!
